Treetops Hospice Care is an independent hospice located in Risley, South Derbyshire. They provide palliative care for adults with terminal illnesses and support a catchment area of over one million people in the cities of Derby and Nottingham, rural areas of Southern and Central Derbyshire and South East Nottinghamshire. Services provided by Treetops Hospice Care include a purpose built day care unit, a Hospice at Home service, employing over 50 nurses, as well as new home for the Counselling and Emotional Support service in the Cheetham Centre opened in July 2014. This new building allowed Treetops Hospice Care to launch an additional support and information service to help people coping with a new diagnosis. Through these services Treetops Hospice Care aims to help as many people as possible within the local area by offering services both in the hospice and out in the community. Their services support and follow the patient journey whilst focusing on the concept that every day counts and more importantly that they, as a palliative care provider, only have one chance to get it right. They work collaboratively with other health care professionals in ensuring that the services reflect local needs and more crucially ensure that their patients and their carers’ choices remain at the centre of the care provided.
